Request- Phone messages- As many of you know, Nellie's Secretary, Ms. Wendy Worthy is on leave. During her absence, we have had a number of substitute secretaries doing their best to support our front office. To help them out, if you are calling in a student absence, please spell out the last name of the student. Thank you for your assistance!

  • On Monday we also kicked off CBE Family Literacy Week (January 26th to February 2nd) to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family.  The theme of this year's Literacy Week is Learn to Be Green – Together, emphasizing the importance of nurturing both our planet and our community. The CBE Literacy Team is celebrating Family Literacy Day by sharing information and activities to support literacy development at home and at school: Family Literacy Day At-Home Activities & Resources
  • On Wednesday schools across CBE celebrated Lunar New YearThe better-known celebrations include new years based on the (lunar) Islamic calendar and the (lunisolar) Jewish calendar that originated in the Middle East; the (lunisolar) Chinese calendar and Tibetan calendar of East Asia; and the (lunisolar) Buddhist and Hindu calendars of Southeast and South Asia. Students read stories about the importance of this cultural tradition, learned about the significance of the year of the snake, made lanterns and red snake crafts. Ask your student how their classroom celebrated.
  • On Friday's PD day, Teachers engaged in professional learning about CBE's Student Well-Being Framework. The goal of this framework is to advance a culture of Well-Being within CBE, explain why it is important and suggest how to achieve it. Central to this work are The five Social Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies for students: ▪ Self-awareness ▪ Self-management ▪ Social awareness ▪ Relationship skills ▪ Responsible decision-making.
