Happy Friday Citizens of Nellie!
The Week in Review:
Grade 2s visited the Leighton Art Centre on Wednesday. This field trip focused on understanding the relationship between humans and nature- one of the most important lessons of our time. Students explored the Foothills on the 80-acre facility and toured the galleries and museum at Leighton Art Centre, near Millarville. With learning the skill of weaving, students were guided in advancing their visual literacy, thoughtful observation and critical thinking. This art project combined with the students' experience on the land provided rich curriculum connections in Science (examining Earth’s landforms, bodies of water, and relationship to the Sun, investigating the growth and development of plants and their relationship to humans) and Social Studies ( appreciating Canada’s vast and diverse landscape). See photos of our beautiful weavings in our Nellie Weekly Pics.
Week two of Bouldering wall! Students are growing their confidence in moving across the wall. See some of the games and challenges in action. Rock, Paper Scissors; Mine Field and Dodge Wall. Watch the Cool videos on the Nellie McClung Community page!
Ms. Acott's grade 1 class spent their last day at Stampede School! See the incredible highlights reel put together on the Nellie McClung Community page.
