Nellie in the Know – September 27, 2024
Happy Friday Citizens of Nellie,
What a fantastic week at Nellie. Meet the teacher, Fun Lunch, Orange Shirt Day, Book Fair and The Terry Fox Run all in one week. Wow!!!! Thank you for your commitment to Nellie. A highlight was certainly the amazing dinner that you all made for the Nellie staff last night! Thank you for such a yummy meal…you certainly spoil us!
I would also like to thank all of the students, staff and families who have sent me such positive well wishes as I take some time for back surgery. Your positive energy, your thoughtful comments and deep care and compassion are very much felt and appreciated. My anticipated leave will be from Oct. 2nd until Dec. 20th.
During my absence I leave you in the very good care of Ms. Aleta Terlecki. Ms. Terlecki has written an introduction letter. I will email it to you today. Please take some time to read her introduction and welcome her to our amazing school.
Thank you so much for all that you do to support this great school. This week we had a number of volunteers come into the school and support student learning by reading with and working with students in small groups. If you have the time to volunteer please consider helping a child at Nellie.
If you ever have any questions, want to know how you can get involved or if you have concerns please email Ms. Aleta Terlecki at adterlecki@cbe.ab.ca .
Sincerely,
Darren Dyck, Principal

Fill Our Cupboards
Snacks are always needed at school for students who forgot their lunch or who are not able to bring a lunch. We also have many students who need a top up on their snacks. Healthy snacks are needed to refill the pantry at Nellie. Donations of veggies, fruit, cheese strings, granola bars, yogurt tubes, crackers and the like are very much appreciated. Please bring your donations to the office early next week. Thank you so much.
