Nellie in the Know – September 6, 2024

Happy Friday Citizens of Nellie,

We had a fantastic week at Nellie.  Students are settling into their classes, meeting new friends and digging into their academics.  The weather was fantastic so there were lots of land-based learning opportunities and time to play outdoors.

This coming week Frisbee Rob will be here on Tuesday and our Sept. Bottle Drive will be on Friday.

Nellie had a number of Frisbees printed with our school logo on them.  They will be sold for $7.00 each on Tuesday and Wednesday at recess.  There is a limited number so they will be sold on a first come first served basis.  All proceeds will go to offset the cost of having Frisbee Rob come and share his talents with us.

The Bottle Drive is our second largest fund raiser of the year.  Parents, community members, students and staff are encouraged to bring their bottles in.  There are prizes for the students and the classrooms who bring in the most bottles so please put Friday on your calendar.

We are going to have a fantastic year.  Nellie thrives because of the amazing people who always work together to support great learning for our students.  If you ever have any questions, want to know how you can get involved or if you have concerns please call me on my cell phone at 587-777-6331 or email me at dkdyck@cbe.ab.ca

Snacks are always needed at school for students who forgot their lunch or who are not able to bring a lunch.  We also have many students who need a top up on their snacks.  Healthy snacks are needed to refill the pantry at Nellie.  Donations of veggies, fruit, cheese strings, granola bars, yogurt tubes, crackers and the like are very much appreciated.  Please bring your donations to the office early next week.  Thank you so much.
