Nellie in the Know – September 13, 2024
Happy Friday Citizens of Nellie,
What a fantastic week at Nellie. The highlight was certainly the visit from Frisbee Rob. As you know Nellie had a number of Frisbees printed with our school logo on them. They will be sold for $7.00 each. Demand outweighed supply so we are looking into ordering more. Stay tuned for more details.
Thank you so much for all that you do to support this great school. This week we had a number of volunteers come into the school and support student learning by reading with and working with students. If you have the time to volunteer please consider helping a child at Nellie.

Calendar
This coming week is our PAC AGM on Thursday evening at 6:30 and our Terry Fox Run on Friday from 9:00 – 10:00 am. Families are always welcome to come and join the race. Donations may be made at https://schools.terryfox.ca/NellieMcClung or please bring your Toonie for Terry on the day of the Run. Donate, come and cheer our students on or come and join the race. It will be a lot of fun for all and continues the legacy of this amazing Canadian Hero!
Running club is starting soon with our first 3 interschool races on October 2, 9 and 16. All students interested in running are encouraged to sign-up for running club this week.
September is a busy month. Stay on top of everything going on by visiting our school calendar and link it to your phone.
Fill Our Cupboards
Snacks are always needed at school for students who forgot their lunch or who are not able to bring a lunch. We also have many students who need a top up on their snacks. Healthy snacks are needed to refill the pantry at Nellie. Donations of veggies, fruit, cheese strings, granola bars, yogurt tubes, crackers and the like are very much appreciated. Please bring your donations to the office early next week. Thank you so much.
PAC News-Your PAC Needs You!!!
Our AGM will be this Thursday, September 19. We have a number of people who have put their name forward to sit on the executive of our council and we want to thank them for giving of their time and their talents to their school. If you are considering helping out please email or call me. All families are encouraged to attend. Childcare and a pizza dinner will be provided!
