February is the month of Valentines and the Heart!

Did you know your pulse throbs every time your heart beats? Find your pulse near your wrist or in your neck. Count the number of times your heart beats in 15 seconds.


Kindergarten

 Did you know that an octopus has three hearts? How many hearts would three octopus have?

 

Grade 1

 A blue whale has 5 heart beats a minute. A hibernating groundhog has 8 heart beats per minute. A tortoise has 20 beats per minute. Which animal has the most beats per minute? How many beats per minute are in total?

 

Grade 2 

If your heart beats 45 times a minute how many beats will there be in three minutes?

An elephant has about 28 heartbeats per minute and a blue whale has about 6 heart beats per minute. How many more beats per minute does the elephant have?

 

Grade 3

A cow's heart has 48 beats per minute. An elephant has 25 beats per minute. Which animal will have 375 beats in 15 minutes?
