Nellie in the Know – May 3, 2024

Happy Friday and Happy Canadian Jewish Heritage Month,

The citizens of Nellie strive to be inclusive and honour and celebrate the diverse members of our special community.  This month we honour the many Jewish families at Nellie and stop and take some time to learn about why our Jewish friends have made such a positive impact on our community and our city.  Take some time to look at the statement from the government of Canada regarding our Jewish friends.

We had a fantastic week at Nellie.  From our grade 3 field trip to the zoo to our grade 5 demonstration of electric cars to our CPS visit with their PALS dog to putting the final touches on our school play, we have had an amazing week.  We are so thankful to all of the incredible volunteers who helped support us this week.

Thank you all and don’t forget to come to the show this Thursday.  Have a great weekend!

Darren Dyck, Principal

School Play – “A Haunting at Golden Groves”

Nellie students and staff have been working hard to create an operetta extravaganza.  This performance is one day only, so put it on your calendar now.  At 9:30 am and 6:30 pm the grade 4, 5 and 6 students will bring the Nellie Original to life.  The evening show will be packed so if you can come in the morning it would be appreciated. Admission to the performance will be $2.00 per person or a donation.  Proceeds will go to offset the costs of production.  See you at the show.
