Hello Citizens of Nellie,

What an amazing week at Nellie.  We truly are all blessed to be a part of the Nellie Family. This week there were incredible learning and sharing opportunities at the school.  We are thankful to everyone for sharing in the Food Bank Drive, Giving Tree and helping with the Winter Concert Series.  It really does take a village a  we have the most incredible village ever.  A big thank you to Acting Chief Superintendent Garry Strother, Educational Director Michelle Howell and Knowledge Keeper Liz Buller Page for coming and sharing our winter concert with us.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you all so much for all of your help and support.

Winter Concerts

Ms. Dennison led our learning community through four exceptional concerts this week.  Her leadership, talent and dedication are so very much appreciated.  We would also like to thank the following people for their work on the concerts:

Kingston on drums. Can’t wait to see you on tour!

Vivian on drums. Can’t wait to see you on tour too!

Daniel on bass and guitar. I’m so proud of you! Maybe you’ll tour with Kingston and Vivian?

All Staff for your work with students to prepare them.

Ms. Knight for helping us learn the choreography and stepping in wherever and whenever needed so that we could be successful in the concert.

Grades K-4 teachers and student teachers for decorating, organizing soloists and microphones, guiding students to and from the stage, leading songs, surviving rehearsals, missing preps and being so positive and supportive. You are an incredible team.

Grade 5 and 6 teachers for so graciously lending us your choir students. Thank you for supporting them.

Ms. Vicki for creating the fantastic choreography for “Who Put The Christmas Presents Under The Christmas Tree”.

Mr. Rodger for setting up the gym, hanging mics and stars, and everything else! You are the best!

Students in Grades K- 4 for all your hard work in music class and in practices. You are so talented and so fun to work with!

Grade 5 and 6 Choir for all the missed lunches, numerous practices, and hard work. I enjoyed working with you so much. You are an amazing group of musicians! Can’t wait to do the spring show with you!

Ms. Wendy for making our beautiful program and managing the office with so much love.

Lyudmyla for giving of your time in practices all last week, your festive serenade this evening and accompanying and supporting the performers so beautifully on the piano. I am very grateful to be able to work with you.

Ms. Kristin for her creative ideas, writing the script, working with the MC’s, leading songs and stepping in wherever needed. You have been an amazing team partner!

Ms. Dennison for your talent, love, commitment and soul.  You are the most amazing music teacher of all time. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

PAC News 

A big thank you to everyone who helped with fun lunch this week and with the Giving Tree.  We could not do this without you.  We are fortunate to be able to help 12 families through the Giving Tree.  Gifts will be delivered today!  Our Nellie Community is so thoughtful and caring!

Winterfest is this coming Thursday.  If you can help with distributing snacks and hot chocolate between 10 and 11 am on Thursday we would really appreciate the support.  Kondilenia will send out a Facebook notification with details or just come around 9:45 on Thursday.  Thank you.
