Happy Friday Citizens of Nellie,

As we move into the last week of February, I would like to provide some  updates regarding staffing:

Mr. Dyck has extended his leave and Education Director Michelle Howell has asked me to continue in the role of Acting Principal. This will provide consistency and accountability in leading the school. As the Acting Principal, my work in schools is guided by CBE Policies and Regulations that describe the expectations of the Board of Trustees and the Chief Superintendent.

Office Secretary Ms. Worthy continues to be on leave and in the interim we have had 3 replacements in her absence. Ms. Keyleigh, who was covering our front office before the winter break received a continuous contract at another school. We have also been fortunate to have substitute secretary Ms. Karen Buetow in the front office 4 days a week. Ms. Maya Lansdown continues to come in once a week, usually on a Tuesday or Wednesday to oversee budget and finance.

Nellie McClung is committed to supporting student learning and well-being while maintaining safe and welcoming school environments for students, staff and families.  Please reach out directly to me as the Acting Principal, Aleta Terlecki, should you have any specific questions related to the school operations or student learning. I am happy to meet with parents to answer any questions.

Kindest regards,

Aleta Terlecki

Acting  Principal | Nellie McClung

Week in Review

Today we had two epic students vs staff netball games (one for grades 1-3 and a second game for grade 4-6)  to celebrate reaching our goal of fundraising over $2000 during our Jump Rope for Heart event. This celebratory game not only promotes physical fitness but also strengthens the bond between staff and students, fostering a sense of community and promote healthy competition, and teamwork. The teachers banded together in a fun neon '80s dress up theme but in the end students conquered teachers in both games. See the fun photos in our Nellie Weekly Pics link below!
