Happy Friday Citizens of Nellie,

Our Jump Rope for Heart event is in full gear!

With Jump Rope for Heart, students discover EASY ways to reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke later in life and help raise life-saving funds for heart and brain research.

Every year, participating schools host a Jump Event Day where students show off what they've learned and celebrate their school's fundraising efforts.

Next Wednesday, February 12th ,we have Nellie's official assembly for Jump Rope for Heart. It will be from 9:45 to 10:15 AM.. Students will be showing off their skills and demonstrating fun unique jump techniques and there will be prizes!

We will also be announcing if we reached our fundraising goal of $2000- SO FAR, WE HAVE ONLY RAISED $310. 🙁Help us reach our goal! Nellie Jump Rope for Heart Donations

Remember if the students reach the $2000 goal, there will be an epic netball game - students against the teachers! (This game will take place on a different day)

Week in Review:

Our Winter Family Dance on Thursday night was a huge success! It was wonderful to see students out together with their parents. It is important for parents to go with children to their children’s events and extra-curricular activities, not just to watch but to participate. It gives children a sense of being cared about, supported, and it builds their confidence. School family dances have been shown to foster closeness and strengthen social ties. Grooving with others literally causes your brain to release happiness-inducing endorphins that help us create bonds. Not only can these types of events be incredible fundraising opportunities, but they create a greater sense of community within the school, improving the climate and culture throughout the building and they allow students to develop social skills that will be valuable to their life. A huge shout out to Nellie's School Council for organizing this fun event!
