Nellie in the Know Nov. 17 | Giving Tree, Lost & Found, Conferences, Concerts, Volunteer, Bottle Drive

Hello Citizens of Nellie,

It is a real joy to be a part of this exceptional learning community.  Although this was a very short week the amount of incredible learning opportunities was amazing.  A few of the highlights this week were our Teacher’s Pet and Robotics in-school field trip and our Kindergarten assessments.  A big thank you to our grade 5 teachers and our PAC for learning about learning in the “Survivor” School Council meeting.

We had so many volunteers in the school supporting student learning this week.  Thank you so much for your dedication and commitment to this great school.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Darren Dyck, Principal

Snacks

Snacks are always needed at school.  If you are able to bring in granola bars, fish crackers, cheese strings or fresh fruit to help those students who do not bring snacks or lunches it would be greatly appreciated.

Giving Tree

As a community, in December, we provide gifts, food and help that is needed. If you and your family are in need, please email me at dkdyck@cbe.ab.ca and we will “adopt” your family this December. If you are interested in helping, please watch for emails from School Council on what is needed. A sign-up genius will be sent out once we know what our families need. Recipients will be anonymous. We only have 7 families who have put their names forward so if you know of anyone who is in need, please direct them to the Nellie In The Know.

If your family is in need please complete this document, email it to me, bring it into the school or come into the school and complete one here. Our PAC is ready to mobilize and wants to get an early jump on gift purchasing.

Lost and Found

Our lost and found is bursting at the seams.  All items will be displayed during Parent Teacher Conferences on November 23 and 24.  Items remaining will be donated on November 25th.
