Nellie in the Know Nov. 3 | Remembrance Day, Giving Tree

Hello Citizens of Nellie,

Today is Ms. Julia Acott’s last day at Nellie.  We wish her all the best moving forward and hope to see her back at Nellie very soon.

We had such a fun week at Nellie.  Halloween was a great success.  A great big thank you to all of the students, parents, volunteers and staff who created all of the special learning opportunities this week.  From costumes, to field trips, to outdoor learning, we had a wonderful week at Nellie.

Have a great weekend. Just a reminder to come and pick up your apples today!  J

Darren Dyck, Principal

Snacks

Snacks are always needed at school.  If you are able to bring in granola bars, fish crackers, cheese strings or fresh fruit to help those students who do not bring snacks or lunches it would be greatly appreciated.

Remembrance Day Service – November 8 at 11:00 am – All families welcome!

Students at Nellie honour the sacrifices of our ancestors who have made it possible for us to live in this great country.  On November 8 families are encouraged to join the school as we produce a very formal and respectful service.  Students or families who have uniforms such as cubs, brownies and the like are encouraged to wear them to the service.

Giving Tree

As a community, in December, we provide gifts, food and help that is needed. If you and your family are in needplease email me at dkdyck@cbe.ab.ca and we will “adopt” your family this December. If you are interested in helping please watch for emails from School Council on what is needed. A sign-up genius will be sent out once we know what our families need. Recipients will be anonymous.

If your family is in need please complete this document, email it to me, bring it into the school or come into the school and complete one here. Our PAC is ready to mobilize and wants to get an early jump on gift purchasing.
